Jeonju Crime Victim Support Center delivers consolation money to victims' families

Tong's attorneys, along with Jeon Jeonju Regional Crime Victim Support Center and Jeon Jeonju District Prosecutor's Office Deputy Chief Prosecutor in charge of Victims' Affairs Jeong Jong-hwa, participated in field volunteer activities on the 24th of Chuseok, visiting the homes of victims of violent crimes and delivering daily necessities and consolation money. The activities prioritized psychological comfort and immediate living support for the victims. Mr. Tong emphasized the legal aspect of victim support, revealing plans to provide legal counseling and representation to protect rights in criminal proceedings and to claim damages and state compensation. He also explained that procedural support to reduce the difficulties victims face during the investigation and trial process and connecting them to counseling systems will increase their chances of obtaining substantive redress. Mr. Tong also expressed his intention to strengthen the social safety net by establishing a continuous support system through collaboration with local organizations and legally complementing the services of victim support centers, and raised the need for institutional improvements and accessibility to strengthen victim protection and support.
