Crime Victim Protection Committee chaired by former Gwangju Deputy District Prosecutor Lee Young-nam

Tong participated in the 7th Policy Council on Crime Victim Protection and Support, chaired by the Gwangju District Prosecutor's Office, as a legal advisor to conduct practical and legal checks on victim support projects. At the meeting, the results of 2021 (674 cases, totaling KRW 364 million), plans for 2022-2023, and the status of local government subsidies were shared, and Mr. Tong summarized legal issues and procedural improvements in the operation of the subsidy. Ms. Tong emphasized the role of legal aid, focusing on the establishment of a rapid cooperation system between prosecutors, support centers, and local governments and the strengthening of the one-stop support system. In particular, she suggested institutional improvements to ensure the legitimacy of assistance in areas such as economic, medical, housing, and personal protection and to improve access to victims, and called for stronger coordination with local governments and the establishment of legal guidelines.
